Morning Prayer and Maine's Bounty

We finally figured out how to record music onto the computer! It was such a struggle to get the music from C's digital piano to the computer in any usable format (MIDI was not converting to WAV). Today I downloaded Audacity and recorded directly as C was playing - from the piano to the music editing program. We used the piece, Tchaikovsky's Morning Prayer, as background music for a movie of our Maine pictures and voilĂ ! A video of some pictures from Maine with C playing Morning Prayer.

A wonderful pat on the back for C! I remember the last time you recorded his stuff for us to hear, and I actually thought that D was doing ballet steps on it. This one feels like calm waves, flowing in to quietly lap the shore....

Now I need to go and find out what this audacity thing is .

C's getting better and better every time you post his latest music.
Will you please, please, please get him a real acoustic piano- I really miss the harmonics in the playing. He probably needs it to, to help develop further.

Sorry for the typo. I meant 'he needs it too', not 'he needs it to'.

Thank you Sylvia and Suranga!

Suranga, Audacity is a music recording and editing software.

Sujata, thank you! It does feel awesome to be around when he's playing.

Sujatha, thank you. It is awesome that you all have been following his progress! Actually the Roland is a very good piano. They've worked with Steinway to produce the same key weight as an acoustic and the same sound. Because I recorded the sound via a microphone (and not directly from the piano) you are not getting all of its sound features. Someday I have to do that. Right now, I'm thrilled that I at least figured out this much! LOL!

A perfect morning prayer indeed! How wonderful you have it as a background for your pictures. Tell C we can't wait for his first concert! :-)

You go tech savvy girl! :-) We don't have a digital piano...so I guess we can't record directly!

Thanks Praba. He's been in recitals at school and at his teachers' annual recitals. But I'll tell him you said that. :)

Subhashree, thank you! Good to get in touch with you after a long time.

Chox aunty, thank you! :) Will pass it on.
