Life in Bangalore: Unforeseen downside

V and I normally converse in English. But when we go shopping, we just slide into Kannada if we want some privacy while discussing the merits or demerits of a product, the price we are willing to pay, etc.

When we moved to Bangalore, we went looking for a TV and instinctively lapsed into Kannada to have our discussion and realized, to our horror, that we'd developed a chink in our armor.

Read your comment on Rhapsoder's blog that you're going to post that interview with Greg Chappell. Would appreciate if you could let us know :-).

I'm from D.C too btw- UMD to be exact.

How was it moving back from below-freezing weather in the winters to Bangalore?

Will do. Was just now trying to figure out how I would do it. It was a 37 minute interview and his answers were looooonnng. Somehow do not relish the thought of having to type all of it out. Toying with the idea of putting up an audio file. But how?

Weather-wise Bangalore has been fantastic, although a bit cool and damp the past few days with the monsoons. We had two horrific hot weeks in June. Other than that, has been pretty constant over the past 10 months. I think we do miss the weather changes, especially spring and the snow in the winter. Can do without the rest.

Thanks for visiting.
