Name Change

N, henceforth, wants to be known as Calvin. He hasn't asked for a stuffed tiger yet.

How did he get interested in comic strips?

My brother went to a book store the other day and bought a bunch of books. One of them was a collection of Calvin and Hobbes strips. He's been poring over that book ever since. I refuse to read it to him so that he learns to sit quietly with a book by himself for some time. The slightly scary part is that he is able to read most of the stuff and he figures out the rest from the expressions. So he's learning some things I could wait for him to know a little later, but so far, it's not been bad. So I'm going with the flow. Of course, some of the lines he knows already just by being a 5 year old ("Pay attention to me dad!").

Oh how cool is your son:-)

I hooked onto Calvin & Hobbes really late, and realised what I had missed!

I'll make sure the day I have kids I won't let them miss out on this wonderful phenomenon

Sujatha,

How is your som doing now? I am a big fan of Calvin but dread the possibilityof my daughter reading calvin and trying to imitate him!!!

He's still with Calvin. Quotes lines from it, imitates Calvin's expressions. We have to keep talking to him, of course, to point out what flies in our family and what doesn't.:)
