Is Anyone Else Afraid...

that one day you will wake up and find that you cannot access your blog and that everything you've written on your blog is lost forever?

Or is it just me?

While we are on the topic of blogs, what is Blogshares? And why/how is someone buying shares in my blog? Is this some new-age monopoly?

Blogshares is a virtual stock exchange (a mock one) and each blog is valued by the incoming and outgoing links. if a popular blogger links to your post then your value goes up drastically. If a just born blog links to you, the value may not go up.

People trade in these if they feel that a blog has potential for appreciation based on the popularity / readership. If you have too many outgoing links then the incoming value to other bloggers might be low as your blog's value has been shared between all the people who are featured on your blogroll.

oh yes, tell me all about it - not the blogshares but the annoying disappearances - have had two years worth of blog space vanish pffff! many times in the past - which is why I realised what a bunch of great people I have met thru my blog - guys I have called on a friday night in panic - and by saturday morning it is back on again! (your first commenter here being one such kind hand holder:))

Kaps, thank you for explaining that. I see some light.

Minal, :)

Charu, I had that experience in the morning. I could access other people's blogs, but not my own. Was frustrating, to say the least! I've never been so happy to see the various shades of green as I was this morning when my page came back up! Sheesh!

Manuscrypts, thank you for that vote of confidence!
