Am baaaaack....

Got back to Bangalore yesterday.

Had a wonderful time in DC, seeing all the old familiar landmarks, meeting up with old friends, visiting the Christmas Tree and the Minora at the White House, roaming the malls choking with the rush of year-end shoppers....

Things hadn't changed much - the neighbors were the same, our favorite restaurants remained (even some of the waiters), Trader Joe's was still there, Beltway politics was in full swing.

Well, may be one thing had changed - the Redskins are on a 6 game winning streak!

Thanks Minal, Jazz, Ravi and Kishore. A very happy new year to all of you as well.

Jazz, it's good to be back in Bangalore. Everyone is walking around in sweaters, caps and mufflers, but after DC we think it's a bit funny to see that here! Bangalore is expecting a "cold" front over the next couple of days, let's see. Already missing the cold weather though.

Kishore, the Washington Redskins are the DC area (American) football team who've had a horrible time the last six years. They started out ok this year, went downhill during the middle of the season, then came back during the end of the season cobbling together a series of improbable victories (three of which happened when we were there). The new coach is good, looks grandfatherly but must be a tyrant in the locker room and during training. Crossing our fingers and watching to see what happens in their game against the Seattle Seahawks next weekend.

Wow Seattle.. :)
I was in Seattle on official duty for a few months last year.. So, I support the Seahawks.. :) let me know who wins...

too bad the redskins lost in the playoffs. They played hard till the very end. They just needed a good offense, and they could have gone all the way! tough luck! Anyways I am seahawk fan!!! Go seattle!!
